Description
Penetration tester measures penetration depth and resistance to ramming on cylindrical test specimens in the laboratory and on finished moulds in the foundry.
- Function: constant ram-energy steel needle driven into the specimen or mould
- Construction: steel needle, aluminium housing with ramming mechanism, drop-weight handle
- Specimen: compression-type specimen
- Dimensions: 225 x 125 x 325 mm (WxBxH), approximately 2.5 kg net
- Standards: BIS standard; AFS optional (4500 test cycles or once a year)
- Supplied with: penetration tester, cup VPT1, instruction manual
